Serving the Community

COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH

Elizabeth House Foundation is focused on better serving the community. We will host local food
drives throughout the year from our community garden. Healthy eating is essential to prevention
of chronic diseases. We provide free nutritional education classes, advocacy and support
services. EHF participates in various community activities such as Health
fairs and Health Awareness events throughout the year.

Knowledge is POWER, thus we will frequently update our website:
www.elizabethhousefoundation.org to highlight any health related news or announcements that
would benefit the community.

OUR PARTNERS

FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS

The goal of Elizabeth House Foundation (EHF) to ensure that underserved women in the community at risk for chronic health disease has the option to know their status regardless if insured or not. We will provide funding to receive a free screening for breast cancer detection those who qualify. We provide certified medical staff to provide the screenings on an individual basis via appointment. We will host quarterly events throughout the year providing these screenings.

OUR MISSION

The mission is to increase access to critical, preventive breast health screenings for under-and uninsured minority women in the Charlotte Region. To empower underserved women of the community and aid in closing the gap of disparity amongst minority women in Preventive Health Care Initiative. Every woman has a right to know her status regardless if insured or not. Elizabeth House Foundation is proud to serve the community. Our goal is to ensure every family in need has the support and tools to live a healthier lifestyle.

HISTORY

Elizabeth House Foundation was founded by Brandy Sims. The name Elizabeth House was inspired by her late mother Ruth Elizabeth, who passed away from breast cancer. She was diagnosed with stage three, HER2 positive breast cancer and fought for five years. Ruth Elizabeth’s passion to fight for her life inspired her daughter to also fight and spread the word of importance of this and other deadly diseases. Her daughter, Brandy always felt that if her mom would’ve detected it earlier, her life may have been prolonged.
